Mylar is a very shiny plastic material that you will immediately recognize from balloons you've purchased at party stores. You can order Mylar online in a huge assortment of colors. These quilt blocks have been specifically designed for Mylar but you can use any fabric with them. The question you are going to ask is about laundering and care. I recommend washing the designs on delicate or even better hand washing them with a mild detergent. Do not iron directly on the Mylar or put the blocks in a drier. The heat will cause the plastic to shrink. I recommend doing a laundry test on one of the blocks so you can see the results.
