Jenny's Cutaway Magic -NEW!
Sheer Non-Fusible Cutaway Stabilizer
Cutaway Magic is a non-fusible nylon cutaway commonly used for creating free-standing embroideries that can be used for appliques or patches. This technique is especially useful when you want to place the embroidery in a hard to reach area or on a fabric that doesn’t respond to embroidery well. Cutaway Magic is very soft and sheer yet offers a stable foundation for even the most dense embroideries. The unique embossing pattern adds strength to the stabilizer making it ideal for embroideries on knits and stretch fabrics as well. Cutaway Magic will not shadow through to the front of the fabric because it is so sheer.
To use for creating free-standing embroidery:
- Place one layer of stabilizer in the embroidery frame. Two layers can be used for dense designs.
- Stitch the design.*
- Working on a heat resistant surface such as glass or tile, use Jenny’s Heat Cutting Tool to melt away the stabilizer from around the design.
To use for embroidery on knits or stretch fabrics:
- Place one layer or Cutaway Magic behind the garment and hoop. Be sure to use a layer at least one inch larger than the hoop size.
- Embroider the design.
- Remove the fabric from the hoop and trim away the excess stabilizer from around the design.
*Tip – Be sure to use rayon thread for the outer most color if you are using Jenny's Heat Cutting Tool to cut out your free-standing embroideries!
